A robot football match is an inviting way to meet Booster Robotics. Behind the kicks and recoveries is a company selling developers a physical platform on which to try ideas. Its T1 has been used in robot competitions, while the current catalogue puts K1 and flagship T2 at the front. For a family, the useful distinction is between learning to build robot behaviour and buying a finished helper for the house.123

From the lab to the pitch

Booster dates its beginnings to June 2023. Founder and chief executive Cheng Hao studied at Tsinghua University, and the company traces its core team's roots to Tsinghua's Robot Control Lab and Hephaestus robot football team. That background helps explain its early emphasis on research, education and tools for other developers.1

T1 made its public debut at the World Robot Conference in August 2024. Booster says Tsinghua Hephaestus later defended its RoboCup Large division title using T1 in 2026. The result reflects both the platform and the work of the team programming it.1

The company now combines hardware with Booster Studio, an app, an Agent Store and developer documentation. That combination matters to a school or club: the robot is only part of what someone needs to turn an idea into repeatable behaviour. A useful demonstration should show the programming, practice and operator involvement as well as the final performance.3

Building a platform business

Booster’s history reports more than 700 humanoid robots delivered worldwide by November 2025. That milestone covers the company’s humanoids as a whole, rather than T1 alone. It places the business beyond individual competition demonstrations while leaving each customer’s software and operating setup important.13

Which Booster robot is which?

Booster’s range is built around development platforms. A documented earlier robot, an introductory model and a flagship can serve different projects, so the model and software package matter together.23

T1

T1 remains documented as a development platform, with built-in walking and interaction functions. Its manual describes agents for football, motion teaching, conversation and dance, and warns that a configuration it calls the '7-DoF version' does not support every agent. A familiar model name is therefore not enough to identify the package on offer.2

K1 and T2

K1 is positioned as Booster’s introductory platform, and T2 as its flagship. T2’s launch is dated July 10, 2026 in the company history. If an earlier T1 demonstration catches your interest, ask which software, accessories and repair support come with the unit offered to you. The newer models’ prominence on Booster’s homepage does not establish a T1 end-of-support date.13

A useful starting point for families

If the attraction is a robot club, ask who will teach, program and supervise it, where it can move, and how a damaged joint gets repaired. If the aim is help with a household chore, ask to see that specific chore completed with the proposed package. T1's own safety instructions call for clear space and careful handling around movement, making an adult-run learning environment the more useful starting point for evaluating it.15
