Privacy Policy

This notice explains the information used when you browse or contact Robots in the House, and the choices available to you.

Browsing and search

Delivering a page involves technical request information, including an IP address and the requested URL, which the services delivering the site may process for delivery and security. Search forms put your search words in the page URL, so those words are included in that request. Results are matched in your browser against the site's directory index.

Preferences stored in your browser

Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser for later visits. Where comparison selection is available, the shortlist is saved for the current browser tab. You can clear this saved information through your browser's site-data controls. These preferences do not require an account.

YouTube images and video

A video preview image is loaded from YouTube's image service, which receives a request even before you play the video. The embedded player loads when you choose to open it. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced player without autoplay; this does not mean that no data is transferred to Google. Embedded videos may include advertising served by YouTube.

See YouTube's explanation of privacy-enhanced embeds and Google's Privacy Policy for the provider's practices and choices. External websites have their own privacy policies.

Email

If you contact Michael McLaughlin through the Contact page, your message and sender details are handled through Gmail so he can respond and assess any correction you propose. Email is subject to your provider's practices and Google's service policies.

Advertising and analytics plans

Publisher advertising and analytics are not currently active. We plan to consider Google AdSense, direct sponsorships and affiliate links. Before enabling advertising or analytics, we will update this notice with the providers, data use and available consent or opt-out choices.

Your rights

To ask about information you have provided, or to request a correction or deletion, contact Michael. Your legal rights may depend on where you live and the processing involved. You can also manage stored site data in your browser and use the controls offered by external providers.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children.
