Segway / Navimow

Segway’s lawn-mower business combines a familiar robotics name with Navimow’s own history, product generations and garden installations.123

Navimow is the robotic lawn-mower business within Segway-Ninebot. Its machines are designed to maintain mapped areas of grass, but the installation changes with the generation and country. Start with the lawn you want help with, then match it to a complete model name: the original i Series, an X315 or another named version.13810

From Segway’s beginnings to a dedicated mower business

Dean Kamen founded Segway in 1999, according to the brand’s published timeline. The same history dates its combination with Ninebot to 2015. Those milestones belong to the wider Segway story. The Navimow business that appears on today’s lawn mowers was formed later.12

In 2021, Segway-Ninebot brought together its Home Service Robotics Division and AI & Robotics Technology Research Institute to form Navimow. That gives the mower business a distinct beginning within the group, with teams devoted to service robots and their software. Navimow’s history identifies those teams rather than a separate individual founder.1

Navimow dates the H Series launch to September 2022, the original i Series release to February 2024 and the X3 unveiling to CES 2025. Its storefront now distinguishes the original i models from i2 AWD and i2 LiDAR, and X3 from X4. This chronology is useful when comparing older stock with a newer mower: a later generation’s navigation feature does not automatically belong to an earlier machine.13

Products and garden jobs

The i Series and X3 family offer different starting points for a garden comparison. Measure the grass that needs maintaining and identify the routes between patches before comparing area ratings. Keep the regional suffix beside every specification.310

Navimow i Series, original generation

The US i105 is rated for 0.125 acre. In Europe, i105e and i108e are rated for 500 m² and 800 m² respectively, with different mowing times per charge. Their positioning and VisionFence camera support mapped mowing without a perimeter wire. These regional ratings describe different versions, so check the full label before choosing between them.389

Navimow X315

The X315 uses EFLS3.0 satellite-and-vision navigation. Its manual lists 0.5 acre for X315N in North America and 1,500 m² for X315E and X315A in Europe and Australia/New Zealand. Those are native regional ratings, not equivalent conversions. The manual describes an included GNSS antenna; Network RTK operation depends on coverage and the exact unit’s support.710

Navimow X3 family

X315, X330, X350 and X390 are separate size tiers. The manual gives approximate mowing times of 120, 160, 200 and 240 minutes per charge respectively. A larger tier may offer more mowing time, but the route between lawn areas and time available for mowing still shape the choice. X4 is a separate family.310

Plan the work around your garden

Draw the gates, narrow passages and no-go areas, then find a practical place for the charging station and any positioning antenna. Ask the seller which firmware and network coverage the offered mower needs at your address. A map on a phone is only useful if the mower can reach the grass you want it to maintain.7910

On October 25, 2026, the US i105 listing displayed a US$669 sale price, while the US X315 page displayed US$1,999 and was marked sold out. These dated examples show why a displayed price and available stock need separate attention. Confirm the local package, delivery and repair arrangements before comparing the total cost.78

What would a normal mowing week require?

When do you want the lawn free for people and pets, and who will deal with a stopped mower while you are away? Put that schedule beside the route through the garden. Then ask the seller to explain installation, optional connectivity and the support offered for the exact regional model.910

  1. Navimow company history

Navimow describes its 2021 formation from Segway-Ninebot teams, followed by H, i and X3 milestones. This is the mower business’s history, distinct from Dean Kamen’s earlier Segway company and from the listed parent’s incorporation. Source checked 2026-10-25.

  2. Segway brand history

Segway’s published timeline names Dean Kamen as founder in 1999 and dates the combination with Ninebot to 2015. These are Segway heritage milestones, not a separate founder biography for Navimow. Source checked 2026-10-26.

  3. Navimow current model comparison/navigation

The storefront separates original i1 from i2 AWD/LiDAR and X3 from X4. Those family boundaries are used for comparison; navigation imagery is not proof of exact model appearance or image-reuse rights. Source checked 2026-10-25.

  4. Ninebot issuer identity

The Shanghai exchange identifies Ninebot Limited’s CDRs, code 689009, and its 2020 listing. This is the parent’s security, not a separately listed Segway or Navimow share. Older financial tables on this page are not used for the 2026 results. Source checked 2026-10-25.

  9. Navimow i105e, Europe

European i105e and i108e columns give different areas and mowing times. The 30% working-area slope and 10% boundary limit are different measurements. US cutting heights and prices should not be combined with these European specifications. Source checked 2026-10-25.

  10. Navimow X3 user manual 250527-B

The X3 manual identifies E, A and N regional versions and separate X315/X330/X350/X390 columns. Native acre and square-metre ratings are not equivalent conversions. Its antenna instructions describe the documented setup; later network service needs a separate compatibility check. Camera behavior and operating specifications are manufacturer statements.
