Ford lists MY2025-2027 Mach-E and MY2026-2027 Explorer applications. This illustrates Automatic Lane Change; the exact depicted configuration and installed version are unverified. Retain vehicle-specific equipment and supervision limits.

Video: Ford Motor Company. Automatic Lane Change guide, September 2026. Ford lists 2025-2027 Mustang Mach-E and 2026-2027 Explorer applications. Ford BlueCruise can assist with steering, acceleration and braking on compatible highways while the driver watches the road. This page concerns BlueCruise 1.5 on appropriately equipped US 2026 Mustang Mach-Es. It can change the work of a highway drive, but the person at the wheel remains responsible for driving.134

Will it help on our regular journey?

Start with the freeway stretch of your actual commute or weekend trip. Hands-free operation is limited to prequalified divided highways called Blue Zones and depends on detected lanes and system conditions. An eligible road alone is not enough: follow the car's hands-free indication and be ready to take control.4

Passengers can enjoy the journey while the driver continues to supervise. Hands-free does not make it appropriate for the driver to read, sleep or turn toward children in the back. Construction, weather and obstructed cameras can interrupt assistance, and this MY2026 manual says not to use BlueCruise while towing a trailer.4

Will it change lanes and take my exit?

Version 1.5 adds Automatic Lane Change. The MY2026 manual describes passing slower traffic and returning from the passing lane when there is space, above 40 mph. These lane changes operate independently of the navigation route, so the driver must still plan for the exit.34

If automatic lane changes do not suit you, switch that feature off; Lane Change Assist can remain active. To cancel an automatic lane change, hold the steering wheel or tap the turn signal in the opposite direction. Keep checking traffic and the lane you should be in.4

Can I add it to any 2026 Mach-E?

The software version is only part of eligibility. A MY2026 Select or Premium needs factory Technology Package 52M; GT and Rally include the required package. A later service purchase does not equip a car built without the hardware. Check the actual vehicle's Ford account for plan status and dates.563

What does the subscription cover?

The equipped MY2026 Mach-E configurations covered here include one year plus 90 days. Ford's US prices checked on October 26, 2026 were $49.99 per month or $495 per year. An advertised $2,495 one-time option is available at eligible vehicle purchase. These are service prices, separate from the car and any required equipment; prices can change.567

The one-time option is tied to the vehicle's VIN for a minimum of seven years. Ford says no further subscription payment is needed after that if service remains available. It is not a promise of permanent service or a plan you can take to another car. If the hands-free plan expires, the manual still permits hands-on lane centering under its own conditions.54

Will this car gain eyes-off driving?

Ford's January 2026 roadmap targets new hardware and software on its future UEV platform in 2027 and eyes-off L3 driving in 2028. That does not establish an upgrade for a 2026 Mach-E. The current support table lists 1.5 for this model year and no newer OTA version, with eligible updates delivered at Ford's discretion.23
