Will it fit the people and luggage travelling?

Five seats make room for a driver and up to four passengers. Chevrolet quotes 57.2 cubic feet as maximum cargo volume, but that does not establish the space available with all five seats occupied. Bring the child seats, stroller or other regular luggage to a vehicle viewing and check that combination together; a maximum-volume headline cannot answer the fit question.¹

How would charging fit the week and longer trips?

Chevrolet lists an EPA-estimated 319 miles for FWD and 307 miles for AWD. Use the figure for the drivetrain you are considering when planning charging stops, then allow for your own trip conditions. Neither number is a promise that a loaded family car will cover that distance on every journey.¹

For daily use, decide where charging will happen while the car is parked. Chevrolet offers home Level 2 charging and describes public-charging access through myChevrolet. Its Tesla Supercharger instructions require a GM-approved NACS DC adapter and activation in the app. Check the actual charger on your route and budget separately for equipment, installation and electricity; those costs are not included in the vehicle estimate below.¹⁴

Which Equinox EV should I look for?

Start with LT 2 or RS if Super Cruise is central to your choice. OnStar lists it as available on those MY2026 trims; Chevrolet's inspected LT 1 FWD comparison marks it unavailable. The LT 2 FWD build uses Active Safety Package 3, and Chevrolet says the system's hardware must be selected at vehicle ordering. An OnStar subscription by itself does not turn an unequipped car into this configuration.²⁵⁶³

What does the Super Cruise-equipped example cost?

On October 26, 2026, the inspected LT 2 FWD build came to $50,050 before incentives, taxes and dealer fees. That comprised $41,795 for the vehicle, $3,355 for Active Safety Package 3, $3,100 for the required Convenience Package II and $1,800 destination. The selected package lists three years of OnStar One. Continuing Super Cruise afterward requires an eligible paid plan; the US FAQ quoted $39.99 a month on October 26, 2026. That is a dated planning figure, not a locked renewal price. Check the vehicle's actual service start date and entitlement, especially if considering a used car.⁶⁸

What changes on a family journey?

Consider a weekend visit that combines local streets, a mapped highway and the final turn into a relative's neighborhood. Super Cruise can assist on eligible road segments, but the driver still watches the road and handles the parts outside its operating conditions. It does not brake for traffic lights or stop signs. If someone in the back needs help, the driver still needs to stop safely or leave that task to another adult.³⁹

On an equipped MY2026 car, hands-on steering assistance and hands-free Super Cruise are different states. Keep your hands on the wheel in the hands-on state. Remove them only when the hands-free indicators and steering-wheel lightbar show the required green state and conditions permit.
