DEEP Robotics

A Hangzhou maker of industrial robot dogs and wheel-legged machines, with a separate humanoid research and development program.12

Based in
Hangzhou, China2
Established

Founder
Zhu Qiuguo3

DEEP Robotics approaches humanoids from a business already focused on moving machines through demanding environments. Its range includes industrial quadrupeds, smaller research robots and wheel-legged models, alongside DR01 and DR02. That background gives its human-shaped machines an industrial and research context rather than an immediate home-shopping proposition.12

From control research to working machines

The company was established in Hangzhou in November 2017. It identifies Zhu Qiuguo as founder and Li Chao as co-founder. Their prospectus biographies describe doctorates in control science and engineering from Zhejiang University, with Zhu also holding teaching and research roles there.23

The portfolio gives different customers different bodies to work with. X30 belongs to the industrial quadruped range, Lite3 serves research, and LYNX combines wheels and legs. DR01 is a separate humanoid research platform; the later DR02 is directed toward industrial applications.12

DEEP's filing dates DR01 to August 2024 and DR02 to October 2025. In a July 2026 company report, it said DR02 commercial rollout had begun during the year. These milestones show the program moving beyond its first platform, while keeping the research model and newer industrial machine distinct.26

Robots and the work they are designed for

DEEP’s robot dogs, wheel-legged machines and humanoids address different settings. The model’s intended job matters more than its place in the same catalogue.12

X30 and Lite3

X30 is an industrial quadruped, while Lite3 is a research quadruped. They provide different entry points into DEEP’s four-legged machines: a defined industrial role or a platform for experiments.1

LYNX

LYNX is DEEP’s wheel-legged family. It is distinct from both the conventional quadrupeds and the DR humanoids, so a demonstration or specification from one line does not describe the others.1

DR01 and DR02

The September 2026 prospectus dates DR01 to August 2024 and DR02 to October 2025. DR01 serves research; DR02 has an industrial role. The company reported in July 2026 that DR02 commercial rollout had begun, while the prospectus described the DR family as being in early commercialization.126

What would useful help look like?

For a family following humanoids, reaching a destination is only the beginning. What can the robot do when it gets there, how much help does it need, and who supports it? Follow those questions with the exact DR model in view, rather than treating a capable robot dog as evidence of a ready home assistant.12
