Intuition Robotics is trying to give an older adult something to engage with throughout the day: conversation, activities and a way to connect with other people. Its best-known product, ElliQ, is offered as a service with a device on loan. For a family, that makes the company behind the conversation as important as the object on the table.6

Building a companion around conversation

Intuition Robotics was established in 2016 and is based in Ramat Gan, Israel. CEO and co-founder Dor Skuler leads a company focused on conversations that continue over time. The company says its software combines several language models to keep those interactions in context.157

The company has explored that approach beyond a tabletop device. Its 2020 retrospective described work with Toyota on Yui for the LQ concept car. That historical project helps explain the broader interest in digital interaction, but it should not be confused with a current consumer car product or ElliQ subscription.2

Products and everyday jobs

ElliQ brings Intuition Robotics’ work into an older adult’s home as a continuing service. The device is supplied on loan, so the conversation, account and membership belong to the same ownership decision.6

ElliQ

ElliQ puts the idea into a more specific setting: older adults at home. Its terms describe communication with family, friends and caregivers, access to content and functions for everyday use. The commercial arrangement keeps the device tied to an account and continuing service, so setup, support and cancellation are central parts of evaluating it.6

Living with the product

Start with the older adult's own interest in the experience. Would they welcome frequent conversation and activities, and who would help with setup or a service problem? Then read the membership and device-return terms together, because ongoing access and the hardware loan are connected.6

The distinction between companionship and healthcare should remain explicit. ElliQ's terms say its services are not medical or health-related advice or services. Marketing about happiness, health or loneliness does not establish treatment effectiveness for an individual, and this profile makes no such claim.67

Which part of the day would they want company?

Would the person using ElliQ welcome it at breakfast, during a quiet afternoon or while contacting family? Agree on one routine they want to try, who will help with setup, and what cancellation and returning the loaned device would involve if it does not suit them.6
