ElliQ is intended to become part of an older adult's daily routine through conversation, games, music and ways to stay in touch. The important purchasing detail comes first: Intuition Robotics supplies the robot and tablet on loan. Paying the initiation fee does not make the hardware yours.352

What daily use requires

The service needs a valid account, Wi-Fi and electricity. It can support communication with eligible family members and caregivers, alongside content and everyday activities. Before choosing it for someone else, establish whether they want the interactions and who will help if their connection or account needs attention.3

ElliQ's FAQ lists customer support on weekdays from 9am to 5pm Eastern Time. That is a useful detail for relatives planning setup from another location. Agree who will be available locally, what a satisfying first week would look like and how the older adult can say they want less interaction.5

Membership and the hardware loan

On October 26, 2026, the US membership page displayed $59 for a monthly plan, $588 paid for twelve months, or $936 paid for twenty-four months, plus a one-time $249 initiation fee. The longer plans are presented as $49 and $39 per month respectively, but those are equivalents of an upfront commitment.2

The US sales page advertises a 30-day trial for annual and two-year plans, but none for the monthly plan. It also advertises free returns and renewal for another full annual or two-year term. The January 2026 terms instead describe monthly renewal and a possible US$49.99 trial-return fee. Before committing, get written confirmation of the trial eligibility, return charge and renewal period for your order.23

The terms also allow a refurbished device and require the loaned hardware to be returned after non-renewal. This is an ongoing service arrangement, so compare the whole commitment and the exit process alongside the conversations or activities that interest you.3

Privacy and the limits of the promise

The FAQ describes wake-word listening and short listening windows after proactive prompts, plus cameras for presence sensing and selected features such as calls. These are the maker's descriptions of operation. Discuss the device's placement and what the person using it is comfortable sharing before setup.5

ElliQ's terms say the service does not provide medical or health advice. Its privacy annex says the companion service is not subject to HIPAA, while the FAQ describes the company as HIPAA compliant. Before sharing health information, ask Intuition Robotics which privacy protections apply to your use.345
