Mentee's idea is that a useful robot should learn from people: watch a task, understand an instruction and adapt its actions to the surroundings. That approach underlies MenteeBot, the company's humanoid platform. The business is now owned by Mobileye, giving its development a new corporate home without turning the robot into an off-the-shelf household appliance.137

The founders are Amnon Shashua, Lior Wolf and Shai Shalev-Shwartz. Shashua brought experience from founding Mobileye, while Wolf had worked as a research scientist and director at Facebook AI Research. The company's 2024 launch account dates its founding to 2022; an earlier Mobileye regulatory biography says Shashua co-founded it in December 2021. The difference remains unresolved.345
MenteeBot emerged publicly on April 17, 2024 as a prototype. Mentee’s approach combines human-to-robot mentoring with learning from a small number of examples and training in simulation. The continuing question is how well those skills carry over into rooms and workplaces that keep changing.34
In November 2025, Mentee showed two V3 robots transferring 32 boxes in a warehouse demonstration it described as operating without teleoperation. Its current company page identifies a third-generation platform. That gives readers a concrete task to follow, alongside the question of reliability and support over a working week.36
Robots and their intended work
MenteeBot is the product family; Mentee Robotics is the company. Mobileye now presents the platform under the shorter Mentee name. When comparing demonstrations, look for the generation being shown rather than treating those names as separate products available to buy.134
MenteeBot
The third-generation platform is part of Mentee’s work on learning physical tasks through mentoring and simulation. The November 2025 warehouse demonstration belongs to V3. A new company banner does not establish a new hardware generation or a finished household purchase package.136
What would learning a household job involve?
For someone interested in a future home helper, the most revealing test would involve a task in an unfamiliar setting. How much teaching is needed? Can the robot recognize when it should stop? Who steps in after a mistake? Mentee's mentoring approach makes those questions central to its promise.3
A future household offer would also need clear delivery, repair and data terms. Before cameras enter private rooms, the buyer needs to know who can see their images and whether training or assistance requires an outside connection. Mentee's current development story is worth following, while those ownership questions remain open.
