1X's design film introduces consumer NEO, not the earlier Gamma. It is a manufacturer presentation, not our household test or a promise that every demonstrated chore runs independently. Early autonomy and scheduled Expert assistance are explained below.

A robot that helps put a room back in order is an appealing idea. With NEO, the practical question is how that help arrives: through the robot's own abilities, an owner controlling it, or a scheduled remote operator. 1X offers all three modes in its product descriptions. Understanding that mix is as important as the price when deciding whether its early home-robot program fits your household.13Reported
This is the consumer NEO introduced on October 28, 2025, which 1X says succeeds NEO Gamma and NEO Beta. It is designed for domestic assistance. The offer discussed here belongs to that later consumer model; the earlier development generations remain separate.1
As checked on October 25, 2026, 1X advertises Early Access ownership at US$20,000, a Standard subscription at US$499 per month and a US$200 reservation deposit. Early Access lists a three-year warranty, premium support and priority delivery. Standard lists a Starter Productivity Package and standard delivery. These are different payment arrangements, not three prices for buying the robot outright.3
The purchase FAQ says owners do not need an additional subscription. Subscribers pay to have and use NEO, then extend or return it at the end. The advertised packages do not establish an included allowance of Expert hours, so ask for that detail before comparing their ongoing cost.23
The current FAQ schedules US Early Access purchases first in 2026, followed by subscriptions, with international deliveries later. The reservation terms put customers on a waitlist and do not promise when an invitation will arrive. A year on the product page therefore does not give a new customer a confirmed delivery date.24Reported
The pre-order terms apply the deposit toward the purchase and require separate Terms of Sale for the final order. Ownership requires the remaining price before acceptance; a subscription can require an initial payment covering a minimum number of months. Final pricing can change before acceptance, so confirm the complete amount and commitment in the invitation.4
The FAQ and reservation terms give different refund deadlines. The FAQ says the deposit is refundable until NEO is ready for delivery. Section 2.3 of the pre-order terms instead allows a refund until 14 days after 1X sends an Order Invitation, after which the deposit becomes non-refundable even if you do not place a final order. Ask 1X which deadline applies before reserving.24
1X describes early NEO autonomy as basic, with new abilities developing over time. For an unfamiliar chore, Expert Mode allows a remote person to supervise the robot at an arranged time. Owner teleoperation through the app and a VR device is a separate feature. A task performed with either kind of human control should be understood as assisted work, rather than proof that NEO can repeat it alone.13Reported
According to 1X, an owner must schedule and accept an Expert session by voice or mobile, and the robot's ear rings change color while an operator is active. The company says its Experts are employees physically in the United States.2Reported
Start with a specific outcome you want, such as moving a basket of clean clothes to a cupboard. Ask 1X to show that task with the objects, route and level of assistance you would use. Include what happens when an object slips or the robot gets stuck. Cooking is initially restricted in the FAQ, so preparing a meal should not be assumed from a video of a robot working near a kitchen.132Reported
1X says sharing data to improve NEO is optional. It separately says an autonomous request may send limited sensor data to its servers, without storing that request data. Opting out of improvement sharing therefore does not mean every operation stays inside the robot.2Reported
Those statements do not answer how an Expert session is recorded, who can access a recording or how long it is retained. The public privacy policy covers the website and described interactions, with general retention criteria. Before arranging remote help, ask for the robot-specific policy and how it handles other people in the room.5
The hand numbers have a useful explanation. 1X's July 2026 engineering article counts 22 degrees of freedom in each hand's fingers and palm, plus three at the wrist, making 25 for the combined assembly. That describes joint movement, not a count of chores it can complete. The 25 figure refers to one hand-and-wrist assembly, not the whole robot.6
1X says the included charger works from a normal home outlet and that NEO can connect itself. It recommends home Wi-Fi. For your own layout, ask where the charger must sit, how the robot reaches it and whether the route to your chosen task is suitable.23Reported
Maintenance advice points owners to 1X's team, and the company describes mobile service. Establish whether that service reaches your address, what a repair costs and how long you may be without the robot. The ownership offer's three-year warranty is worth examining alongside its exclusions and service arrangements.273Reported
Choose one recurring job, agree how it will be completed and ask for the whole experience to be demonstrated, including operator involvement and recovery when something goes wrong. Then compare the effort saved with the scheduling, access and cost you would accept. That gives the NEO offer a practical measure of value for your home, even while its capabilities are developing.1327Reported
The October 28, 2025 launch identifies the consumer NEO as the successor to Gamma and Beta. Its early autonomy and household capabilities are described by 1X.Reported

Section 2.3 sets the deposit refund deadline at 14 days after an Order Invitation, even if no final order is placed. The FAQ uses readiness for delivery instead. The final order requires separate Terms of Sale; ask which refund deadline applies before reserving.

The July 2026 engineering article counts 22 finger-and-palm degrees of freedom plus three at the wrist per assembly. The combined 25 is not a whole-body count or proof of a delivered unit’s exact configuration.

This is 1X's later consumer NEO, introduced in 2025, not NEO Gamma or Beta. The reference uses the current product and reservation pages.
1X positions NEO for home assistance. Decide which ordinary job you want help with before comparing a hardware specification or demonstration.
The advertised ownership price is $20,000. A $499 monthly plan and $200 reservation deposit are separate offers. Read the refund discussion before reserving. The maker schedules US ownership deliveries before subscriptions and international rollout; your shipment and delivered total still need confirmation.
Early autonomy and scheduled human assistance are different experiences. Published speed, battery and runtime figures are manufacturer specifications, not our household tests. A hand count is not a whole-body count, and initial cooking use is restricted.

Ask for a complete demonstration of your intended task, including interruptions and human help. Confirm who can connect, how a session is accepted, what an operator can see, repair arrangements and the exact contract for your country.
