Perimeter routes and observation
K7 is presented for perimeter work and light-duty off-road surfaces, with an advertised speed up to 10 mph. Ask for a demonstration on the actual ground, turns and access points it would patrol. The maker’s description does not establish a complete weather or terrain envelope, or an appropriate speed around people for every site.1
Knightscope advertises 360-degree HD video, a pan-tilt-zoom camera, thermal imaging, detection of people, vehicles and license plates, and live talk-down. These features describe an observation and communication role. The company’s wider managed-security offering includes human supervision, but the exact services included with a K7 need the site’s contract.13
Limited release and the deployment forecast
Knightscope's August 12, 2026 release said K7 had passed its Alpha prototype review and was moving toward Beta. It forecast initial deployments in the fourth quarter in one section and the third quarter in another. The later limited-release label supplies no confirmed customer delivery date and leaves that discrepancy unresolved.21
For a potential customer, limited release should trigger a concrete set of terms: which configuration will arrive, when the site will be accepted, what the service includes and what happens if readiness slips. No universal K7 hardware price or monthly fee is established here. Nor is there a verified production specification for dimensions, runtime or the complete operating envelope.1
People, operating limits and recordings
Define who monitors alerts, who can issue a spoken warning and who attends an incident. Obtain the operator manual, emergency procedures and the site’s rules for recording, retention and access. The public website privacy policy does not answer those operational questions, and a current K7 operator manual is not established here.315
A useful K7 evaluation begins with a map of the perimeter and the response you need when something happens. If the route requires conditions beyond light-duty off-road patrol, ask for evidence against those exact conditions. Compare the supplier's release status, the offered unit and the monitoring and response services included in the contract.13
Questions for a site proposal
What does limited release mean for this site's delivery, acceptance and continuing support?13
Which terrain, weather and pedestrian conditions are covered by the actual operator manual and contract?1
Who authorizes and carries out the response to an alert, and who controls the recordings?35

- 1. Knightscope: K5 and K7 fact sheet
On October 26, 2026 Knightscope labeled K7 limited release and described light-duty off-road perimeter patrol at up to 10 mph. Those maker claims do not establish a customer handover, exact production dimensions, runtime or a complete operator manual. Detection accuracy and the delivered configuration remain unverified.

- 2. Knightscope: August 12, 2026 release
The release describes K7 passing its Alpha review and moving toward Beta. Operational Highlights forecasts initial deployment in Q4 2026, while Second Half Priorities says Q3. Both accounts remain unresolved. The later limited-release label does not establish which forecast was met or provide a verified customer delivery date.

- 3. Knightscope: patrol and managed security
Knightscope describes a human-supervised managed security operation with a site-specific response plan. This is company service context, not confirmation that particular monitoring hours, response commitments or other services are included in a K7 contract.

The company filing supplies the US commercial and government service context. It does not establish a household offer, a particular robot’s delivery or the scope of an individual service contract. No company financial figure is treated as a product price.

The public notice concerns website visitors. It does not establish the data agreement for a K7 deployment. Ask who controls recordings, who may view them, how long they are kept and how access and deletion are handled.
