A consumer and education quadruped family whose software access and equipment depend on the edition.1

Before you choose

Which Go2 does this page cover?

This profile covers the legged Go2 AIR, PRO, X and EDU family on Unitree’s international comparison page. These are quadrupeds, not humanoids. Go2-W and Go2 Enterprise are outside this scope. Confirm the exact edition, included controller and intended activity before comparing an offer, especially if you need a particular development interface.

Which edition should I consider for a coding project?

The accepted comparison table lists full secondary-development support for EDU, partial support for X, and no such support for AIR or PRO. Graphical programming is a separate listed feature, including on AIR and PRO. Ask for the exact interface, documentation and permissions needed by your project; “programmable” alone does not settle that choice.

What prices and delivery terms were actually observed?

On October 26, 2026, the international table listed AIR at $1,600 and X at $4,500 before tax and freight. The United States/USD shop view showed PRO without controller at $2,800; EDU required a quote. The selected PRO also showed backorder wording alongside a one-month shipping headline. Neither wording establishes stock or a delivery commitment to your address.

Is Go2 suitable for children or all-weather outdoor use?

The 2023 V1.0 manual says Go2 is not a toy, excludes users under 14 and warns about children nearby. It also prohibits wet, dusty and gravel conditions, while newer marketing mentions gravel. That material safety uncertainty remains unresolved. Obtain the manual for the actual supplied hardware before planning terrain use; no child-safety or all-weather assurance is established here.

What does ownership involve beyond charging the battery?

The V1.0 manual describes registration, app binding, Bluetooth pairing and AP or Wi-Fi connection. It calls for sound parts, firmware checks, clean sensors and familiarity with emergency braking. The current table quotes about one to two hours for AIR/PRO/X and two to four for EDU, subject to configuration and conditions. Confirm the supplied unit’s procedures and support route.

Does every Go2 keep recordings local and avoid recurring fees?

That is not established. The 2023 English policy describes local storage for several functions; the 2025 Chinese policy describes optional voice/image collection and surroundings-image uploads, plus paid data services. Their applicability to an international account remains unresolved. Obtain the policy and fee terms for your app version, region and enabled features before assuming local-only operation or no subscription.

Choose an activity, then an edition

Go2 is a four-legged robot for people interested in operating, exploring or developing robotics. Unitree lists it in its consumer and education range. The first buying decision is the edition: Air, Pro, X and EDU share a family name, but they do not offer the same development access or equipment.1

Start with your intended activity: remote-controlled movement, following a person or building a software project. Then confirm the included controller, software permissions, usable space and local service. A family resemblance to a dog does not answer those questions, and it does not establish suitability as a household companion.1

Development access depends on the model

Air is the entry configuration. Pro adds the listed side-follow feature, while X and EDU extend the range further. Unitree's table reserves full secondary-development support for EDU and marks X with partial support; Air and Pro have a separate graphical-programming feature. Ask for the exact software interface you need before choosing a cheaper edition for a coding project.1

The current table lists roughly 15 kg with battery and a standing size of 70 by 31 by 40 cm. It quotes about one to two hours of battery life for Air, Pro and X, and two to four for EDU. These are manufacturer figures for the listed configurations, not our measurements.1

The listed price is not the delivered cost

On October 26, 2026, the international table listed Air at $1,600 and X at $4,500 before tax and freight. The official shop's United States/USD view displayed $2,800 for Pro without a controller and directed EDU buyers to sales. Controller choices and shipping make the headline price an incomplete ownership budget.12

On October 26, 2026, Unitree's United States/USD shop headline estimated shipment within one month, while the selected Go2 Pro without controller was marked backordered, to ship when back in stock. Those statements do not establish a delivery date for that configuration or your address. Confirm the delivery commitment before paying. It also advertised shipping of $399 to $1,000, with customs, taxes and import clearance the customer's responsibility. That range is not a quotation for your address.2

Learn control and check the current manual

The 2023 V1.0 manual describes app registration and binding, Bluetooth pairing and connection through AP or Wi-Fi mode. It also tells users to learn emergency braking, check the robot's parts and keep its sensors clear. A first session should therefore be planned around learning control, rather than immediately trying the most dramatic movement in a video.3

That manual explicitly says Go2 is not a toy or a product for users under 14, and warns about children nearby. It also prohibits wet and dusty or gravel use, while newer marketing mentions gravel. Because those sources cover different hardware eras, ask for the current manual for the supplied unit before treating it as an outdoor all-weather robot.31

Match the app policy and support to your region

Read the policy for the app and region you will actually use. Unitree's English notice dated July 14, 2023 describes local storage for several control and recording functions. Its Chinese-language policy effective November 7, 2025 describes optional AI services that collect voice and images, including Lingchong's periodic uploads of surroundings pictures. The notices differ in date and service scope. Which governs an international account remains unknown without the app version, account region and enabled features. Neither establishes that every Go2 keeps all data at home.45

The Chinese policy also names paid data services. Ask whether the features you want need an account, connectivity or recurring payment in your region. Unitree's table lists different warranty periods by edition, but the seller should supply the complete applicable warranty and repair arrangements.51
