NEURA Robotics
A German robot maker connecting industrial arms, mobile machines and the 4NE1 humanoid family through a shared learning platform.13
NEURA Robotics wants the skills learned by one robot to become useful to many others. The Metzingen company builds several kinds of machine, from industrial arms to humanoids, and links that hardware ambition to the Neuraverse, its platform for sharing robot skills. That makes the business behind 4NE1 broader than a single human-shaped assistant.13

David Reger founded NEURA in 2019. An early company account describes him assembling roughly twenty specialists and an investor around the project. Industrial work remains an important part of the story: NEURA's portfolio includes the MAiRA and LARA arms, the MAV mobile platform and MiPA, alongside 4NE1.12
These different bodies make the company's direction easier to understand. A fixed work area, a factory floor and a room built for people ask different things of a robot. NEURA's shared-platform approach aims to connect those settings through software and training, rather than requiring every useful skill to be developed in isolation.13
The NEURA Gyms are part of that plan. The company describes them as places where robots practice physical tasks and generate training data. For a household reader, the interesting question is what becomes transferable: whether a skill learned in one carefully arranged space still works when the objects, lighting or layout change.3
NEURA's Gen 3.5 datasheet, revised January 2, 2026, lists Thor T5000. NEURA separately named Isaac GR00T for its CES 2026 booth robots. Its later 4NE1 product page describes Gen 4 and NEURON AI. The earlier hardware specification and booth software account do not establish Gen 4's configuration.4910
Robots and the work they are designed for
NEURA combines several kinds of robot with a shared software platform. The full-size 4NE1 and smaller Mini serve different ambitions, while industrial arms and mobile machines remain part of the business.1345
4NE1
The full-size humanoid’s main page introduces Gen 4 and says series production is being prepared. The separate reservation page still names Gen 3.5. Anyone considering a reservation should ask which generation, hardware and delivery terms the agreement actually covers.48
4NE1 Mini
Mini has Standard and Pro reservation configurations. Standard is aimed at education, basic voice interaction and entertainment, without manipulation. Pro adds a research and manipulation role. A classroom demonstration and an experiment in object handling therefore call for different packages.5
MAiRA, LARA, MAV and MiPA
MAiRA and LARA are NEURA’s arms, with MAV and MiPA also in the portfolio. These machines help explain why the company is developing a shared platform across different robot bodies, not only a single humanoid.13
What would useful help look like?
Choose one task you would like a robot to repeat, then change the objects or layout. Can the supplied machine still finish, and who helps when it cannot? That is a useful way to explore NEURA’s shared-skills ambition, whether the setting is a classroom, a workbench or a room at home.345
