The original robot
The original presentation lists a height of 177 cm, weight of 52 kg and 21 degrees of freedom, meaning the independently movable parts of the mechanism. Xiaomi also lists a maximum speed of 3.6 km/h. These figures belong to the original design presentation; a later demonstration under the same name does not make them a fresh specification for that machine.32
Xiaomi described a Mi-Sense depth-vision system, a curved OLED display and a dual-microphone voice system. Its promotion also discussed recognizing environmental sounds and categories of human emotion. Those descriptions tell us what Xiaomi was trying to build. They do not establish that the robot understands a person's feelings or can take responsibility for someone who needs care.3
What the newer demonstrations establish
At IFA 2026, Xiaomi says CyberOne made finger-heart and thumbs-up gestures for visitors. The same announcement says factory trials are testing perception, control and task execution through manufacturing work. This is a useful update on the program's direction, but it does not supply a complete new hardware table or a consumer launch date.2
A factory task can be defined around a known part, workstation and sequence. At home, the objects and circumstances may change from one day to the next. Before treating CyberOne as a future purchase, ask for the exact hardware revision, the tasks included with it and the amount of human assistance required. Ask where cameras and microphone data go, who can access them, and how a failed task is recovered. These are ownership questions to resolve; the original sensing claims are not answers to them.32
For now, follow CyberOne as an evolving program. The original robot is an important historical reference, while the 2026 factory and exhibition work shows continued activity. Keeping those accounts separate makes it easier to appreciate the progress without borrowing old measurements for new hardware or assuming a home delivery date.12Inferred
