Tesla Robotaxi is a passenger ride service booked through the Robotaxi app. As of October 26, 2026, Tesla lists limited areas of Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando and Tampa. Check the actual pickup and destination in the app: its service boundary and the assigned vehicle determine whether the trip will work for your party.2Reported
Which city, and which vehicle?
Tesla lists Model Y and Cybercab in its fleet. The Cybercab-specific page narrows that vehicle's availability to parts of Austin, and assignment depends on available vehicles and party size. A service operating in a city therefore does not establish that Cybercab can be selected there.23
Tesla's general support page includes Orlando, while the Cybercab FAQ's broader Model Y city list omits it. That difference does not establish either an Orlando withdrawal or its exact fleet. Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Antonio and Jacksonville are labeled as coming soon on the landing-page map.231Reported
Who can ride in the assigned car?
Age rules depend on the vehicle. Model Y allows accompanied guests aged 8 to 17 and excludes younger children. Cybercab allows accompanied guests aged 13 to 17 and excludes under-13s. These distinctions can decide whether the service works for a family before price or wait time enters the comparison.23
The app supports screen readers and provides routes to local wheelchair-accessible providers. That is not the same as the ordinary autonomous vehicle accommodating a passenger who remains in a wheelchair. Check the actual provider and vehicle for that need.2
How will the whole journey work?
Booking requires the Robotaxi app and a Tesla account. The app shows an estimated fare and wait before confirmation, and operating hours depend on the area. You can edit the destination during a ride, but the current instructions do not allow additional stops. For an airport journey, confirm the pickup arrangement before relying on a city listing.2
The passenger controls include Support and Pull Over. Tesla's privacy notice limits routine cabin camera and audio use to described circumstances, but also specifies additional default collection for early-access participants. Read the terms attached to the service offered to your account.24
Choose a real journey and check both ends, passenger ages, accessibility and the return trip. If you need a guaranteed vehicle type or an airport pickup that has not been confirmed, keep another plan. Being a passenger on this service does not establish which driving software is available for an owner's car.23
