S8 MaxV Ultra combines vacuuming, sonic mopping and a dock that empties dust, washes and dries the mop, and refills the robot's water tank. The useful question is how that routine fits your home: where the dock will go, which floors need cleaning, and who will look after tanks and replacement supplies.32
Roborock unveiled S8 MaxV Ultra in January 2024. This profile covers the standard water-tank dock, using the US manual for robot model S82USV and dock EWFD13LRR. Roborock also announced a separate refill-and-drainage dock variant. Check those names on an offer; S8 Max Ultra, S8 Pro Ultra and Saros are different products.123
Roborock lists LiDAR navigation, sonic mopping and a camera-assisted obstacle system for this model. Its 10,000 Pa suction rating comes from internal testing in Max+ mode with a full battery; it is not a floor-cleaning score. Remote viewing is another MaxV feature to consider if a camera moving through the house is part of your decision.43
Plan a quick pickup before cleaning. The manual asks owners to clear cords and loose items and follow the first route. Carpet settings and retracting mop mounts help define the cleaning routine, while a no-go zone can exclude a rug. Check your floor and rug care instructions before choosing wet cleaning.2
For family schedules, the manual specifically says not to operate the robot in a room where an infant or child is sleeping. A scheduled clean should respect that restriction.2
The US manual's installation diagram calls for more than 0.82 m of height, 0.42 m of width and 1 m of depth on a hard, flat floor. That is working space around the dock, not its physical size. Choose a position where you can reach the tanks comfortably and where Wi-Fi coverage is good; app setup supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.2
The standard dock has a 4-litre clean-water tank. The robot's own tank is 100 ml, and its dustbin is 270 ml. These are different containers doing different jobs, so a large dock tank should not be mistaken for onboard capacity.3
The French catalog height below can help with an initial furniture check. Measure your actual gaps and confirm the local unit before treating a low sofa or cabinet as accessible.5
The remaining work includes refilling clean water, emptying dirty water, changing full dust bags and cleaning the robot and dock parts. Budget for the appropriate consumables and ask about local repairs before buying older stock. Roborock specifies its recommended cleaning solution and warns against adding disinfectant.2
Remote viewing and obstacle recognition make camera settings worth checking during setup. The French product FAQ described onboard obstacle photos, but that does not establish that all images stay on the device. Roborock's app policy, updated June 22, 2026, expressly separates app processing from device-specific policies. Check the actual regional device policy for recording, access, storage and deletion.3456
Roborock announced a US launch MSRP of USD 1,799.99 in January 2024 and anticipated sales from April. Those were launch terms. A current orderable package, delivered price and restock date still need confirmation from the seller.1
Before paying, confirm S8 MaxV Ultra and the intended dock on the seller's actual order page. A listing for Saros 10R or S8 Max Ultra describes a different product. Ask for delivery, returns, warranty and replacement-part details for the unit on offer.1234
Can someone clear the floor and reach the water tanks without making cleaning a new nuisance? Does the dock fit where you want it, and are its camera features welcome in those rooms? If those answers work, compare an actual local package with alternatives, including supplies and repair support. An old launch price alone cannot answer that decision.231

This retained French catalog figure is separate from the US manual. Confirm the height of the local unit and allow for the furniture gap itself.5
The US launch MSRP of USD 1,799.99 and anticipated April 2024 sales are historical. The suction figure is a maker specification, not a cleaning-performance score. The refill-and-drainage dock is a separate variant.

This manual covers robot S82USV and standard water-tank dock EWFD13LRR. Its placement diagram gives working space, not dock dimensions. Follow its cleaning-solution instructions and restriction on operation in a room where an infant or child is sleeping.

Use the S8 MaxV Ultra column. The robot dustbin, onboard water tank and standard dock water tank are distinct containers; neighboring S8 models must not supply missing values.

The 10,000 Pa rating uses Max+ mode with a full battery in Roborock's internal testing to IEC 62885-2:2021, section 5.11. Retained S8 feature descriptions identify this model. The old shopping link later led to Saros 10R, so its earlier USD 799.99 sold-out listing is not a reliable current S8 offer. This does not establish worldwide discontinuation.

The 103 mm height and onboard obstacle-photo description are French catalog claims. Confirm the local unit and device policy. This shopping link later led to Saros 10R; its earlier EUR 799 out-of-stock listing does not establish a current S8 offer.

The policy was updated June 22, 2026. It addresses app processing and leaves device-specific functions to separate policies; it does not establish that all camera images stay on the robot.

Roborock promotional footage identifies the model. Robots in the House has not performed a hands-on cleaning test.
