Setup, support and ownership
The business behind the brand changed in 2026. MORAVIA says it acquired Wonder Workshop's assets and launched US-based MORAVIA Education in February, continuing Dash, apps, accessories and Make Wonder. Keep that transition visible when checking support or a subscription rather than assuming an old Wonder Workshop corporate profile is still current.26
For physical Dash, installed tablet or phone apps can work without internet. Browser use needs an internet connection, and the exact app matters: the compatibility page marks Go as deprecated and Xylo as no longer receiving updates. Blockly, Wonder and Blockly Pro should not be collapsed into a single timeless 'Dash app' claim.13
Make Wonder has a free tier that requires a physical Dash. Its US pricing page checked on October 26, 2026 listed a USD 125 annual Homeschool plan for up to five students and one parent or teacher, with additional content and virtual-robot features. The paid feature list now names JavaScript and Python in Blockly Pro. Confirm the intended physical or virtual workflow and plan entitlement before promising a particular text-code project.4
Dash's internal battery is not user-replaceable; the maker directs owners to support if it stops holding a charge. Its privacy policy says recorded voice travels to the robot over Bluetooth and remains there until replaced, while class-work and account functions have separate data handling. A useful trial includes connecting the exact device, saving a program and checking the support route for the specific unit.153
